Happy Holidays from all of us at Colossal Squid Industries.

Colossal Squid Industries is pleased to announce we are now the Digital Agency of Record for the Kimberly-Clark SCOTT® brand line of products.
We’ve been working hard planning a smorgasbord of compelling digital initiatives for 2010 while also quietly rolling out in-market some fine rich media ads we’ll highlight shortly.
Our seasoned crew sports a pedigree from the likes of BBDO, Design Kitchen, Element 79, Tribune Interactive, IP Pixel, WhittmanHart, Y&R, Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide. So to the fine folks at Kimberly-Clark we give a hearty “Huzzah!” We’ve got some great things in store for the coming year.
More news to follow shortly on a number of new things we’ve got going on here in the West Loop. For now we’ve got some unpacking to do.

In discussing favorite short lists, ours is the 2009 Cannes Cyber Lion for Games. We made the Shortlist for our three exceptionally insanely challenging Flash AS3 beasts. Test your ingenuity here. Thanks again to our good friends at Fallon for bringing us along.
This is smoking hot awesome. Thanks France.

Count us in. The Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) has honored us with an invitation to join their merry band. This is really awesome news and we’re pretty jacked to have been considered for membership.
SoDA is the worldwide voice of digital marketing professionals with a mission to advance the industry through best practices, education, and advocacy. The annual Digital Agency Performance Benchmark survey, unConferences, and a bunch of other stuff.

Congratulations to Fallon Worldwide. The Squid partnered with our Minneapolis friends on IngenuityWelcome.com for Johnson Controls. We developed three games powered by a robust physics engine providing real world physics challenges in a fast-loading and nimble Flash environment. The games are a finalist in the One Show Interactive category of Online Branded Games.
How open-ended is Coconut Run? Check out some of the sheer signs of genius displayed in all the user-generated content living on You Tube. It’s amazing. And it is truly freakin’ viral (yes - the dreaded “V word”).
Thanks again Fallon, and congrats to the other finalists including CP+B, Big Spaceship, Dentsu, Goodby, and MTV.
Have you seen the finalist?

A year ago this week we jumped out of our agency digs and fired up The Squid. Late nights with Javor, eating sushi with borrowed cold beers, radio-controlled helicopters. A year later and none of that’s changed.
Some old friends wanted in, and some new climbed aboard with little more promise than a common goal of redefining our methods and creative processes (and to not have jobs that totally suck). We are a work in progress - and that’s the best part.
Thanks to Mike, Dan, Amy, Nick, Jason, Jim, Kyle, James, Shea, Tom, Chris, Jennifer, Vic, Jef, Bill, Erin, Chris, Matt, Patrick, Carina, Justin, Mark, Jesse, Brian, Jeremy, Josh, Jen, Susi, Kiss, Alan, Ted, Bill, Philip, Erin, Emily, Leo, Dave, Allison, Phineas, Bob, Jody, Juan, Steve, Anj, Thomas, Kurt, Frida, Zac, Mike, and all those whose name we have egregiously overlooked.
We hope to roll out some pretty great news soon. In the interim - here’s our original blog from week one of last year. No cops this week, but exciting no less.
- Steve and Pat
